COLD HAWAII
Victoria Hauke & Andi Otto
dance - cello - electronic music
Premiere 18.07.2020
Grateful for the possiblitiy to be able to work together freely in a
very open situation in the middle of nature:
In a short and spontaneuos residency in July 2020 in the KirstenKjærs Museum in the North of Denmark choreographer/dancer Victoria Hauke and composer/sounddesigner Andi Otto develloped a new work, feeding on and going beyond excerpts of their works.
Their meanwhile 10 years lasting international
collaboration kept revolving around the question: What is the relation between dance and music? Is the dance following the music – is the music accompanying the dance? Or…?
In Duo and Solo parts they unfold an evening around ways of interaction between sound and movement. Andi Otto plays a self-built sensor-extended cello bow called 'Fello',
whereas at times a simular gravity sensor, attached to the body of the dancer, translates dance movement directly into sound: surfing on a wave of sound and movement.
Thank you for support for travel expanses to: Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, Ministery of Culutre and Media, International Cultural Exchange and the Kirtsen Kjærs Museum, DK.
